I love that Kyoya has never not admitted or refused to admit how much he cares about the Host Club. I think he genuinely did not know what caring for something materialistic or "temporary" (which he has referred to the host club as) felt like or how people usually process adoration.

When Haruhi was accused to stealing fake antiques at the mall and Kyoya defended her, Haruhi called him out on it and said that he must have emotions after all and Kyoya was like "What? No that lady has merit that's why I did it. She's very rich. She's a business partner. No I don't."

Then Kyoya said that he and the Host Club members were only friends because it was beneficial to them all, it sounded cold, but that sort of thinking was probably burned into him at a young age and is not as cold and distant to him as it appears or sounds to others.

When the twins first joined the club and everyone wasn't used to their shenanigans yet, I wonder if Tamaki ever threatened to kick them out.

Like I have this headcanon that they made girls cry unintentionally (force of habit ? Like they're were rude but unintentionally rude) and Tamaki didn't know that they were actually trying to be nice, and threatened to kick them out if they couldn't behave, and then the twins genuinely got upset. And Tamaki almost made them cry, which in turn made Tamaki actually cry and that's why, years later, despite what a pain in the ass the twins can be, nobody in the club does anything about it because they've witnessed how much this club means to them and they know that they're just mischievous for the fun of it and don't mean any harm to anyone and that they do care, deeply about everything, just in a different way.

And then Haruhi joins the club, and at first you can tell she gets fed up with them pretty easily, but after awhile she kind of just ignores them. Like when their dad pulled her into the room and thanked her for being the twins' friend, even though they can be tiresome sometimes and she said in response that she doesn't mind, and that Hikaru and Kaoru are special to her because of the way that they are.

The only time I was ever mad at Tamaki was when that princess asked Haruhi to taste her food In case it was poisoned and Tamaki was like:

Tamaki: yeah Haruhi 👁️👄👁️ eat it.

Hikaru: wtf is wrong with you

Tamaki: fine. I'll eat it 👁️👄👁️

I dunno about you but Manga Haruhi is the most beautiful anime heroine I've ever seen. Meanwhile anime Haruhi is planning my murder

Also Tamaki: "I'm sorry princess, but you're not classy enough to be apart of my host club"

No wonder the hosts were mad. A dude punched her in the face, she was knocked unconscious, and then was thrown off a cliff into the ocean.

Bruh if Tamaki didn't come after her, she woulda died. And she had the nerve to ggdjfxigxjg okay Haruhi.

It's been 10 years and I still can't watch episode 8 without cringing. Why did they do this to Kyoya dhkxgixg and why is Haruhi so dumb. I'm sobbing

Curse Ouran for giving us character backgrounds and childhood/teen trauma and never having the Characters resolve it.

So Kyoya's just supposed to keep struggling and never receive any genuine love and respect from his family (besides Fuyumi)? He's just supposed to always feel bitter a cold about it? We're never gonna get that "Tony, My greatest invention... was you." Moment with Yoshio and Kyoya?

Yoshio never came to realize that maybe he's been too hard on his kids? He doesn't feel bad about never telling any of his children that he was proud? He doesn't feel bad that he doesn't like his only daughter coming over to his house for dinner??

And I'm just supposed to believe Hikaru and Kaoru lived 14 years of their lives believing that they lived in their own little "world" and the power of friendship fixed their identity crisis that was so extreme they literally thought Hikaru was Kaoru and Kaoru was Hikaru." You really think they didn't feel some type of way when they realized they stole their own childhood from themselves and each other? That they literally deprived each other of individuality, friendship, validation.

That they never really came to terms with how distorted their views were. Or how wrong they were and all the mean things they did. Did they really just write it off as a bad phase? And all of the children who have gone to school with them for years just like... Forgave them because they became hosts? Like I know Tamaki's influence is great but he's not a miracle worker. Did they really not need therapy? Hikaru and Kaoru really spent their whole lives sort of living as one person, and they just knew how to function properly when one of them was like "Hey let's be independent now."

I mean I know it's a romcom but we could have at least let the main characters come full circle 😤
