Thinking about returning to the restaurant industry guys.... so this blog might be up and running again lol 😂
Summer can be a really stressful time when working in restaurants... I no longer post on here because I quit, but if you have any hostess rants, feel free to submit them on here!!
Guys, I don’t work as a hostess anymore. I quit and haven’t worked there for nearly a month now. So I won’t be ranting on here anymore. However, feel free to submit your own rants to this blog, and I’ll publish them :) :) (I will keep this blog up)
No more being yelled at by servers for double seating them. No more wait-listing. No more shifts every single Saturday. No more “please wait to be seated” signs that I have to move to the centre of the entryway so that customers will at least notice it (but they don’t anyways). No more bussing tables with dirty napkins (who knows what they’ve been used for). No more being yelled at for telling people to wait five minutes. No more asking every single person if they want to switch shifts and having them say “no” every time. No more hostessing. Saying good bye to the hostess life :) and goodbye to this tumblr :( / :)
When a server is having a bad day, and doesn't want to take tables, I'd much rather have them tell me that - than yell at me for seating them when it's not even busy in their section.
Hostess Rant.
When people from a large party decide that they are going to just “grab another booth” or “put their drinks down on another table” and sit there temporarily because it’s empty. No. Please. Don’t do that. Please sit at the tables we chose for you when you made the reservation. When we sat you, and placed the menus out for you at those tables… It was not a suggestion that you sit there. There are other people who need to sit down at a table and eat too, you know. So stay where we put you, please. End. Rant.
When you just get to work and the very first party you seat says they want to sit somewhere else, you know it's gonna be a long night.
These 2 ladies were having a conversation as they walked into my job, and I said hello as they came in. They ignored me and continued to talk to each other for a minute. Then finally one of them looked at me and rudely said "do we seat ourselves?"....I'm almost to the point where I'm gonna lose my temper with someone.
