Tbh I'm loving Hosuh's reaction to this lol
Oh yeah sorry for posting late cUZ OUR WIFI GOT DISCONNECTED NDOQNCIEQQ
If Hosuh’s $28K is 15%, then the revenue was $187K.
If Stephen got less than $300, then he got less than 0.16% of the revenue
The animators each got ~$450 so they each got 0.24% of the revenue.
(Assuming that all numbers are per month)
Assuming that there’s three animators a month, then Dan gets $157K per month. This is a whopping 84.11% of total revenue.
The pay amounts are sourced from here, but with the correct calculations.
Stephen says Hosuh got 15% and $28K but then says the total revenue is $40K which makes no sense. $28K isn’t 15% of $40K. He likely stuck with $40K because of socialblade. The $187K total likely includes the merch revenue.
Okay so I am really upset by what happened and I don't really know if I can respect Dan anymore.
You should never ever treat a friend like an employee when they did so much for your success. How far up your own as* do you have to be to say that you are the only reason you and your friends' channel got big? When people clearly watch for all of the crew?
DanPlan is nothing with just Dan. DanPlan is nothing without Hosuh, Stephen, Jay and the Animators. DanPlan without them is just Dan talking frantically to an orange named Timmy. DanPlan is a group effort.
Now I have some questions? Does Dan see Hosuh as just an employee, too? Or Jay? Ann?
Because then he needs a reality check.
So DanPlan...
I have wanted to talk about this at some point so here we go, I guess.
Well first of all, I'm so sad that this whole thing has happened. I loved the iconic duo. But if I'm completely honest, I started watching DanPlan because of Stephen. It was Stephen that made me keep watching and made me start loving the channel. Over time I came to love the other characters (especially Hosuh) though Stephen is still my favourite.
I didn't believe it in the start, when I watched the video. I couldn't. But I have come to terms with it. I just wanted to say how proud I am of Stephen, he could easily have thrown Dan under the bus, but instead he told us to not go hate on him. Stephen was also very honest about what had kept him so long with the channel (a year is a really long time if you are having an on going fight with your friend/employer/collage).
He mentioned Hosuh (I will talk about it in a bit, bear with me) but he also mentioned how he liked the fame. Fame can be very addicting and therefore very plausible to be a factor to why he stayed. Still I think it's amazing that he mentioned liking the fame and having fans that loved you, as not many people would mention that.
Now, Hosuh. Stephen told us how Hosuh tried to keep the channel together even though Stephen and Dan were fighting. And I think that was a sweet mention from Stephen. I also think Hosuh deserves so much credit and love for trying so hard because it must have been so hard to see two of your friends fight and slowly drifting away from being friends.
With all this said, I am still waiting for Dan's response to all this. I want to hear both sides before I draw to many conclusions, though I am, to be completely honest, for the moment leaning more to Stephen's side. I'm still subscribed to DanPlan, mostly for Hosuh, Jay, Ann and the animation team's sake, but also because I want to see how it will work out.
I will at the very least watch until there are no longer any of Stephen's videos left, and then I'll try to watch a video or two of their videos without Stephen to see if I still enjoy watching them. If I still enjoy watching their videos then I might continue to subscribe and if I don't, then I'm unsubscribing.
I, eh, think that was all. Its fine if you disagree with anything I have said as this is my opinion. I just hopes everything works out in the end. Let's all hope 2020 gets better soon!
