My story for the Supercorptober day 5 prompt (“maroon”) has taken on a life of its own… it was supposed to be a short little fluffy ficlet, but apparently the characters had other plans. ::shrug:: So instead of rushing to finish it, I’m going to let it run its course and see where it goes. Still hoping I can finish it properly by the end of October though, fingers crossed. In the meantime, here’s a little sneak peek for anyone who is interested:

She lets out a breathy chuckle and drops her eyes back down to the ground, giving her head a little shake. “I just can’t believe I’m actually going on a date with Lena Luthor. The Lena Luthor, Alex! She’s a certified genius!”
“And she’s going on a date with the Kara Zor El Danvers. Certified superhero.” Alex steps forward and grasps Kara firmly by both her shoulders and ducks her head down to catch Kara’s gaze. “As far as I’m concerned you are both incredibly lucky.”
“I just… “ Kara pauses, searching for the right words. “I like her so much, Alex. I ..”
“You love her.” Alex’s voice is soft and understanding, as if this was the most obvious truth in the universe.
Kara’s initial look of surprise quickly turns into one of acknowledgment. The edges of her lips pull up into a soft smile. “Yeah. Yeah, I do.”
