buries head in pillow and screams
believing in psychics can be fun
seeing a medium and being creeped out by their accuracy can be fun
but if someone says conversationally 'don't worry, they don't have special powers to spy on your personal history, it's just cold reading'
the appropriate response is NOT to get all pissed off and say 'well that's your opinion'
opinions are cool, but an opinion based on what you want to believe is simply not equal to one based on your evaluation of the facts
if you look at facts and draw a different conclusion, awesome
but if you refuse to educate yourself before forming an opinion, then congratulations, you are being ridiculous
Derren Brown Investigates
I just finished watching Derren Brown Investigates; Part One: The Man who Contacts the Dead. Which after watching became apparent that he is fake. Even I could tell he was lying in the last scene.
One thing I found interesting, is that he didn't seam to say anything about the possible 'Hot Read', from when the man would always go to toilet, when he entered. Which brings up the possibility of him Hot Reading information from the household. It seamed like Derren was pointing this out, but didn't elaborate on it.
End.
