Hard to focus on things today, but here’s something: on January 7, 1961, the very first Avengers episode premiered, starring Ian Hendry and Patrick Macnee. Of course, Patrick’s John Steed quickly became the lead, even though the show was intended as a showcase for Hendry.

So disappointing that the only surviving 15 mins of Series1 Episode1 -Hot Snow, is totally devoid of Steed. What a huge loss.

*Hot Snow is a mostly lost first season episode of the English T.V. series, The Avengers. Only Act 1 of 3 (the first 14 minutes) is known to exist.It was later recreated and released on audio CD and download by Big Finish in January 2014 as part of The Avengers: The Lost Episodes Volume 01
