Silje Norendal
Silje Norendal is a 26 years old Norwegian snowboarder who excels in halfpipe, slopestyle and boardercross. She was born on born 1 September 1993 in Kongsberg, Norway. This talented Norwegian has won three consecutive X Games Snowboard Slopestyle gold medals (Tignes 2013, Aspen 2014 and Aspen 2015), And 4 golds in total.
Silje Norendal the Early years
Norendal started riding snowboard at the age of four and participated in competition at aged six. She became a professional snowboarder at 12, Amazingly at such a young age. Silje went to the NTG snowboard school as a teenager and later she joined the strong Norwegian national team. She came up through the competitive ranks of Norwegian snowboarding. She was ranked at 189th in 2007. In the following years, she improved 78th, 40th, 13th and 8th up to 2011. In 2013, Norendal represented Norway at the 2013 Winter X Games Europe in Tignes and won gold in women's slopestyle.
Further Career and medals
Further moments of success and recognition came when she participated at the 2014 Winter X Games in Aspen, Colorado. In 2014, she won gold in slopestyle. Then, Norendal competed at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia. And finished in fourth place in the Slopestyle Semifinals with a score of 78.75. In the Ladies Slopestyle Finals, she scored 49.50 and finished in eleventh position. 2014 was a successful year that gave Norendal fame and paved her way to collect more medals and success in the future.
