Pruina's backstory
TW: Mentions of death, blood, maybe some gore. Mentions of polyamory and OC X Canon!!! Self-indulgent nonsense and drama. Spoilers to Woolhaven lore
Years ago, long before the genocide of sheep, Pruina traveled to Ewefall. However, in the process, she broke her leg. She was found by Baraq, who was leading his trout at the time, and brought into Woolhaven.
Yngya nursed the mortal back to health. Despite their different status, Yngya and Pruina became lovers, and Yngya made Pruina the Gatekeeper of Woolhaven. Yngya even bargained with the Mystic Seller to grant Pruina an Immortality Necklace, so that her lover wouldn't grow old. Pruina was much thinner at the time.
Yngya, Sariel and Pruina were in a polyamorous relationship. Sariel was Yngya's High Priest and husband, and he loved both women very dearly.
Years later, the genocide of the lambs began, due to the prophecy of a sheep freeing the One Who Waits. When the Bishops began the genocide of the sheep, Yngya was desperate to protect her flock and the Woolhaven. She even begged to the Mystic Seller for help, but since they were unable to give her anything that would save them, Yngya was left powerless. She was desperate and afraid.
Yngya was then killed by the Bishops. Sariel was deeply depressed after Yngya's death. Pruina tried to comfort him as best as she could, but they were both devastated and beyond consolation. Sariel was being consumed by hatred and wrath.
An argument broke out between the two, and they separated. Eventually, Pruina went on to fight in Ewefall, to hopefully hold back the heretics. But then, she didn't return. Sariel searched Ewefall and couldn't find her, leading him to believe Pruina was dead.
Pruina's presumable death was the last straw for Sariel. He took it upon himself to lead the remaining flock, and created a plan to make the Rot. Sariel was overcome with rage and grief over Yngya's and other sheep’s deaths, and decided that if sheep did not deserve to live, no one will. All the remaining sheep sacrificed themselves to keep Yngya alive. The ritual also allowed the creation of the Rot, a curse that would engulf the world in Rot once the last Lamb died. But the last Lamb, which is Mori, didn't die.
As it turned out too late, Pruina also never died. She was stuck beneath snow, bleeding and passed out, bitten by wolves. But she crawled out and returned to Woolhaven... Only to find bodies and silence. Unaware of the Rot ritual, or that Yngya and her Cyan Crown remained frozen inside a statue, until the Last Lamb could finally answer her. Pruina buried the Disciples, including Sariel, and returned to Ewefall.
