god i messaged hotommunist like a couple of months ago about how he shouldn't play up being a trans woman when he isn't and to stop posting transmisogynistic hate anons he gets from people who think is IS a trans woman (also he never even published my asks, only made posts About them so he could twist my words) and then i just gave up and unfollowed. sucks that he's still Like This but at least other people are seeing this now.

Trans men do this shit a lot too -- they bait transmisogynists into sending transmisogynist hatemail under the impression that they’re sending it to a trans woman (or are just sent such mistaken transmisogynist hatemail incidentally without any baiting), and then gloat about it like it’s a Funney Diversion, and not, like, a concentrated expression of people’s violent hatred for trans women. It’s like....tourism, but for transmisogyny. And when trans men do it, they often revel in being told “YOU ARE A MALE” like it’s so cool that their gender is being affirmed by someone who thinks they’re harassing a trans woman.

Because transmisogyny means that most people are way less likely to donate to someone they think is a trans woman. But a small fraction of people -- usually other trans women and in general people who are themselves poor and otherwise highly marginalized -- go out of their way to support (other) trans women. And it would be extremely disgusting if Hotcommunist tricked, say, an actual trans lesbian into donating to them because she thought Hotcommunist was an actual “lesbo trans” as they stated in their donation post

I’ve gotten SO many DMs and replies from people saying the same thing! And it takes so much WORK for an AFAB lesbian to give the impression that they’re actually a trans woman! The number of people surprised by Hotcommunist’sactual relationship to transmisogyny proves that they’ve consistently put in that work over time, which, again, is IMPOSSIBLE to do accidentally.

Like, not to be a broken record but there’s noooo fucking way ~accidentally~ have this many people thinking they’re a trans lesbian, especially when they’re.....literally referring to themselves as “lesbo trans” and stating they’re “affected by transmisogyny”
