I'm addicted to writing in hotel lobbies, watching everyone go about their lives. I have no idea where they've been or where they're going, but they're here. Waiting for the elevator. Living their lives. One moment of dozens of people's lives and I get to witness it. And nobody looks at me twice. All these lives, people coming and going and interacting on the smallest way possible. I'm surrounded by life, but I'm making up fake ones right on the paper in front of me. It seems ironic to me. But it's so peaceful.
