Widowmaker was tasked by Talon to infiltrate Icarus Labs, get to the mainframe computer, and use the prepared device to download all the research files that the lab had. Everything went fine at first: exterior defenses breached, guards and cameras avoided or disabled, and the mainframe reached. But once the download was started, the alarms sounds and the building was placed on lockdown. Stuck in a laboratory with other mutants and abominations with no clear exit and a limited number of bullets for her rifle. What could go wrong?
If truth can be told, the containment breach was not intentional. It was just a coincidental accident. At least somewhat coincidental.
The Icarus Research Institute is a highly secure, highly secretive laboratory. If she were any other operative, Widowmaker would have been considered very lucky simply getting into the building unnoticed. But she isn't, she's one of Talon's best. That means it was no surprise she got as far as she did.
Sadly, someone hadn't told her that you can't just interface with the mainframe. No, you need to pass a biometric scan, multiple of them, in fact. She'd skipped quite a few just by sneaking in, but the last one she tripped. Directly attached to the mainframe itself was a small camera, one that scans anything that turns it on. First, it scans for a cardiovascular system. If detected, it will then scan for brainwave signals. If detected, it will then scan to see if the entity in front of it had any form of scalable ID on it. All done in under a second.
She'd passed the first two, but failed the last one, and the alarm went off. That's where things went wrong. At least, for security it did. As at the same time she was breaking in, most of the security staff was busy dealing with a scheduled cleaning of a specific subject's containment cell.
When the alarm went off, guards began running off to deal with the beginnings of lockdown. Thus leaving the cell under guarded. Was it any wonder when a particularly aggressive subject in the cell decided to test its luck, and actually managed to take down the too few guards and begin a full scale containment breach?
Now, not only did the Icarus Lab have to deal with an intruder, but the escaping of a full colony of mutated ants. They spread like wildfire, creating chaos. One she could use to escape, but only if she managed to make it that far...
