Holding On To Good || Richie & Jade
The movie theatre lobby was mostly empty, the hot smell of slightly burnt popcorn almost overshadowed by the thick, cloying scent of the salty butter they layered over it. Richie wondered faintly how sick of the smell the people who worked here got. He probably would hate it, too, but at the moment it was welcome, a strong, visceral reminder of a night gone well. The movie had been mediocre, his soda a little watered down, but he'd asked out a pretty girl, and she'd said yes, and she hadn't even smacked his hand away when he'd pulled an over dramatic 'yawn-stretch-arm-over-the-shoulder'. It was his first real date since Aya, and that didn't mean that Richie's mind was clear of his ex, it didn't mean that Jade was the girl he was going to marry, but he felt like it was a step in the right direction. Not that Jade was anything but wonderful, beautiful when Richie had picked her up from her place, kind to him in the car ride over, and mysterious, making him curious in a way he hadn't felt in awhile. Exiting the lobby, Richie kept his arm stretched out, holding the glass door open for Jade.
"I'd uh... I'd ask if you wanted ice cream but..." He let the offer trail off with a shrug. "I can take you home if you need, but if not... We could go to the park near the center of town?" It seemed like a lame offer, but the normal invitations of food and drink wouldn't do Jade any good.
"Normally I'd worry about werewolves, but now I've got a badass vampire on my side." He said, mouth stretching into a playful grin.
