After finding a suitable safe shelter in the cavity of a rock, snowtrooper special forces unit SSF3298 set out to explore more of the strange exposed surface. . The Great Hoth Heat Wave has awoken another new species. SSF3298 have discovered ginormous footprints. After measuring the displacement of soils and depth of the print, they were able to calculate the weight of this new, never before seen beast at approximately 58,967 grams. Scales of magnitude larger than the Wampa, it could quite possibly be the largest creature the empire has encountered, if you don’t include the Exogorth (space slug). . As they waited for their care package the snowtrooper unit continued to explore the exposed surface of Hoth. It was so completely different as to leave them dumbfounded. They trudged through a swampy mess of old sticky decayed vegetation. One can imagine the amount of water that had been released from the deep snowdrifts that had piled up for many generations. They really did stick out like sore thumbs in their bright snowhite suits. They started to think maybe it was a good idea to rub mud all over themselves to hide better, but the stench of the rot made them change their plans. They would continue to wait for a care package from the Empire. Meanwhile, the Empire - entirely forgetting about their Snowtroop on Hoth had traveled to the distant vacation system where they enjoyed many luxurious planets filled with expansive beaches on endless coastlines. May the 4th be with you! . After nearly a year stranded on the surface of a melted Hoth in the great #HothHeatWave the mists of water had dissipated. The heat melted the ice and Hoth turned into a lush swampy rain forest for several months. The swamps soon dried out leaving much of the lush vegetation screaming for water as it slowly transformed into wretched crunchy dryness. Everything has become pokey and rugged with upwards of 5-10 feet of dead vegetation piled by the wind into great swaths of what used to be snow drifts... SSF3298 has grown accustomed to their new life and have all but forgotten the Death Star and the Empire. Freedom sure was worth the trade of all the technology the empire affords. They do miss the finer things in life; but they were able to fashion a solar oven and make fresh blueberry cheesecakes using Wampa milk and some bluish berries that weren’t actually blueberries but they seemed sweet enough. The #hothheatwave has made it fairly easy to spot a wampa from a distance. This has led wampa to become more of a forager of berries and green mosses. Obviously annoyed, the wampa has become a much more formidable predator. They can be observed tearing at water for fish and other easy meats but make sure to stay hidden as they are still quite limber and fast - covering a distance of a few hundred feet in a matter of seconds. . This is a shot from vacation a few weeks ago at #coronadelmarbeach. Today I am down in St. George for the #uttoyphotosafari and am super stoked to be shooting with such an awesome group of photographers. We are headed to Snow Canyon this morning. The glow of spring on Hoth was blinding... SSF3298 had arrived at what they had marked as their landing site on radar but the heavy moisture in the air had made their instrument readings sub-par at best. There was no indication the Empire had been there; ever. . Meanwhile, the Rebel tunnels had been inundated with flash flooding. Much of the secret base had been reduced to a thick mucky sludge that was uninhabitable. Sandbag walls had helped a bit, but the melting floors had been unavoidable. The Great Hoth Heat Wave (G.H.H.W) has made the surface of Hoth lush and very humid. The Snowtroopers are wishing they had packed summer clothes... with all the ice melted there are tons of fresh water pools and cliff diving opportunities. They have sent word to the empire to send a care package including swim trunks, beach towels, sun-tan lotion, and goggles.
