This exhibition will consist of a series of masterfully executed oceanscape paintings in which Withers navigates deeply personal and visionary scenarios informed by themes of alienation, isolation, and uncertainty in the face of an increasingly dangerous and incomprehensible future. In addition to a virtuoso command of materials, Withers employs her own wry sense of humor, which functions as an antidote to the constant specters of hopelessness and despair, as she fearlessly dives into the mystery of existence in the 21st century.
