Inktober day 16: Wild.

Here’s a character I haven’t drawn in literal years. His name is Houkou, he’s based off the original Japanese story about the tailed beasts. It’s said that the five-tailed one can control each of the five elements with his tails and that, when used together, can make natural disasters occur. In my own Naruto AU (because I’m here to have a good time), he lives in solitude in the wilderness, after being created out of all the negative energy emanated from the people who live in the nearby village, which is filled with thieves, scammers, assassins and overall terrible humans. He’s eventually defeated and recruited by a female ninja who feels most comfortable around canine friends.

[ 生生流転〜中島法晃個展〜 ] felizのシンボルの白い蓮筆を彫っていただいた藝術家中島法晃さんの個展 最終日におじゃますることができました。 横浜での個展以来 久々の法晃さんの個展に期待を膨らませて伺いました。 会場のギャラリーWhiteCubeは 真っ白な部屋と真っ黒な部屋があり その空間を最大限に活かした作品の展示で世界観が表現されていました。 真っ黒な部屋には 様々な素材で制作される法晃作品としては常に人気の高い彫刻作品と書画が静かに佇んでいました。 彼の作品達は常に私を捉えて離さない魅力に溢れ 作家としての資質や技量力量に心からリスペクトしています。 真っ白な部屋は 今までに個展をおこなってきたアーティスト達が壁に絵を施し 白く塗りつぶし また描かれ 白く塗りつぶした歴史ある白壁が覆っています。 中島法晃本人がリアルにその白壁を削りながら 中に潜んでいた色を彫り出し来迎の雲を描いていました。 部屋の真ん中には felizとお揃いの白い蓮筆が浮かんでいました。 白い蓮筆越しに 壁に描かれた金の蓮を重ねると 白い蓮が輝いて観えるサプライズなトリックが仕組まれていました。 いつも法晃さんには してやられるような嬉しい仕掛けに驚かされます 笑 壁を彫る手を少し休めてくれた法晃さんは 穏やかな笑顔で 静かにぽつりぽつりと制作の話をしてくれました。 今回の個展 見逃さなくて本当によかったです。 felizの蓮筆の素晴らしさを感謝と共に改めて噛みしめながらギャラリーを後にしました。 法晃さんの今後のさらなる活躍に期待が高まります。 素晴らしい個展 ありがとうございました m(_ _)m #houkou #houkounakashima #gallery #whitecube #中島法晃 #生生流転 #蓮筆 #feliz #atelierfeliz https://www.instagram.com/p/BqC1yANnzyi/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1x08v93aryisr

Houkou | The Five-Tailed Dog

This is the interpretation I went with for To the Bitter End:

The five-tailed demon is a white dog whose tails represent the five elements of wind, water, earth, fire, and lightning. However, his primary trait is not any one element, but illusion. Houkou was known to cause massive natural disasters to feed off them.
