Fingers curled tightly onto the collar of the now dirtied-white shirt. The boy wearing it was suddenly snapped back from his crazed running frenzy. There was still random screeching coming from the annoying creature. If only he brought duct tape around with him. Maybe it was back at his car. Black eyes gazed down at the small child with incredulous annoyance. This boy had made him walk down eleven different alleyways, over two fences, and through barbed wire that had been set up just to unsuccessfully keep people out. Regulus glanced momentarily at the tear in his jacket recalling the brush past sharp metal. Great. He would have to get that mended. All for a thief and a wad of cash.
Regulus was in no mood for a hunt. yet, there had been too much running. There was no need to go this far when one noticed he was not losing a tail, he reasoned. Regulus had lost sight of the male many times, yet the scent of dirt and sweat had exuded a clear path. Each time he had caught up, there had been yet another unearthly screech followed by a gruff curse. In the busy streets of Busan, nearly nobody would care about such a sight. No one to stop either of their hurdling figures. Why of all Mondays must he deal with street ruffians.
The boy would now find his shirt, and inevitably his person dragged back toward the nearest wall by a man clearly wishing to waste no more time. Whether or not the smaller fought was a precarious decision. Regulus would not let go wither way, but he might drive his fist through intact ribs just to gain some cooperation should the struggle continue. He wanted the cigarettes back too, after all. A small grunt slipped from the beast as a kick was aimed at his shins. Digits slid to the boys shoulder as he shoved the child into the cold brick. “Pack. Back. Now, boy.” His voice was gruff with an air of impatience. It took a lot to drive this man to such a disheveled state, and once he reached the teetering edge, the fall was so very far from his collected state. He was no longer in the mood to play, and his set jaw and stretched lips might hint toward his lack of tact right at that moment.
