wow your knife is gorgeous @____@ where'd you get it/what's the story behind it ?

Thank you! My knife is called Wanderlust. I got Wanderlust at Hoodoo antiques in Portland from Mike, the owner.

Mike often hoards stuff behind the counter for me to consider before he displays them for sale in the shop, and in exchange for getting 'first dibs' on these items, I help him price and sell taxidermy and the like. 

Mike got Wanderlust from a friend, who in turn got it from a different friend. All we really know about its history is that it was made in Alaska, probably in the 30s or 40s, and it's very well-used.

Wanderlust was made to be both beautiful, functional, and VERY durable. It's the best knife I've ever owned.
