She had greeted them within the foyer of the Manor. A warm smile and an inviting demeanor welcomed them into her home. Lord Sunrunner entered with his betrothed as his side and those below his banner fell in behind him. She always enjoyed seeing them as a group in their entirety, always so well put together and presentable.
Introductions were made, polite and enjoyable conversations had, delicious food and drink filled them and this continued into the late hours of the night. Small performances entertained them, one of which Elenaris partook in, bringing the two houses and organizations together even closer.
There was never a dull moment during the evening, for anyone, it seemed. There was always someone to listen to, a story, advice, jokes, it was a glorious reprieve for all to indulge in from the day to day business.
Though, be it as a personal event, Elenaris felt no better timing than to take Lord Sunrunner aside to propose her idea to him. Logistics and small details to be set aside for another, the two leaders seemed to agree upon the splendid idea of an alliance between them. Of course, it was yet to become official, but Elenaris felt no concern for the coming meetings she would have with Lord Sunrunner and Lady Dawnsong.
As the evening began to slow, Covaya and Lord Furseth proved to be the most entertaining of the event as a whole. To have friends as these, the Regent felt as she was not such. But a simple Sin'dorei enjoying the time with those close to her. But of course, being a noble woman aided in this as they indulged in the finest of wines only adding to the mischief.
Though the event was a success and none seemed to notice, Elenaris' mind was never fully on her guests at hand. A part of her was saddened Damon had not been at her side during such an event, however her main distraction came from another guest that held up within her home.
As Cindel came for Covaya, leading her elsewhere within the manor to bath and change for bed, Elenaris slipped away down the stairs that led under the estate.
Her heels clicked on the damp stone floors as she approached a room that was barred off completely. With a brisk nod to the guards, they stood before her and opened the door. Once they led her inside, Elenaris waved them away, eyes coming to rest on the man chained to the walls within the room.
"I have not much time to spend on you this evening... You are not perhaps feeling generous tonight are you?" Elenaris asked as she bent at the knees to look the male elf in the eyes.
He snarled, pulling on the chains to gain closeness on her, though was held just a hair from his target. "I will tell you nothing!" He spat through clenched teeth.
Elenaris brought her hands to either side of his face, fingertips resting on his temples. The man's body stilled, though did not fall limp, instead stiffened extremely. She closed her eyes, searching through his thoughts and memories, her face twisting in anger. With a surge of shadow magic, she pushed away from him, only to be rewarded with a dark and sinister laugh.
"Did you think your sister a fool, Elenaris? She knows your talent and power, but that is also how she knows to beat you." He sat back comfortably, eyeing her as she backed away.
"I will find her, rest assured. Through your mind or another's, she will be returned to me." She paused in her steps as the guards moved to begin to close the door. "And she will suffer." She concluded as the heavy door slammed shut, bars being put back into place.
She inhaled deeply, briskly walking through the corridors and back up onto the main floor. With every step toward her chambers, her demeanor faded back into the serene and pleasant expression everyone knew her by. She could not have Covaya worried, at least not yet, not tonight after such a wonderful evening. Plus, with as much as she had consumed in wine, another time would do.
Elenaris had come just in time to slip into the bath that Cindel had prepared for her.
"Mrs. Covaya will be in shortly, My Lady."
"Thank you, Cindel. Please, just lay out my gown on the bed. I will dress myself tonight." She spoke as she settled into the warm water of the bath, relaxing away her stress and becoming truly at ease.
