Housiversaries are a thing! Owning a home is a major life milestone, so why not celebrate your first year living there with some pictures on social media? A housewarming party is the traditional way to invite family and friends into your new home when you first move in, but a before-and-after picture is a fun way to share updates about all the hard work you’ve done during your first year in your new house. Or perhaps some pizza served on moving boxes to remember the “good times” you had moving in?

Happy Housiversary! One year ago today, I closed on this place out in the woods. It’s been a pretty insane ride since, involving pretty much every challenge possible - pipe freezes, entire house flood, water quality issues, HVAC problems, having an entire gutter fall off, having to deal with insurance, shady contractors, and more. We have learned a LOT! Not to mention the adjustment of moving from New York to a place with no Grubhub or bodegas, far away from all our friends. We finally settled with insurance, and on Sunday we booked in to have flooring installed. Which brings us one step closer to completing this project and having guests up. I’m so excited to have this place become a sanctuary for my New York musician family to write and record! Bring on 2018. 10 years ago today, we closed on our home. We took Kyle with us to the closing, all dressed up as the Itsy Spider in his matching stroller. He was adorable. today is my one year houseiversary

i dunno if that'll ever stop being weird to me I was pulling into the driveway last night just staring at the house like

mine???? this? MY house??? I OWN???? HOUSE??????????

and sometimes when i walk in the door it feels strange like it's not really mine, but those feelings are slowly starting to fade the more we decorate and make it ours,,,,,,

it's still weird though... I'm 26 and I own a house......................
