the one where your soulmate’s ghost haunts you when they die. ( for arkos naturally :3)
Soulmate Au
She’d heard stories that when one’s soulmate passed, their ghost would haunt their Partner until they too departed life; however she thought that was merely a tale. In hindsight, with what she’d learned about the Maidens, she should have known better.
Not long after her death at Beacon Tower, Pyrrha had found herself at her partner’s side. Frustration filled her at first, all she was able do was watch Jaune grieve while the desire to hold him and whip away his tears but knowing she couldn’t do so caused to guilt to plague her. She was to blame for his pain, and there was nothing she could do to comfort him. It wasn’t until she recalled the tale she’d been told in her childhood that she realized why she was here, the story was true and he was in fact her soul mate.
So she followed him along as he traveled with what remained of their team and Ruby. Pyrrha wasn’t able to reach them, but at least she could could watch over them. Until the day she feared came, she did just that.
They’d been fighting, everyone’s aura taxed and on the verge of breaking, and all she could do was watch helplessly. She hadn’t seen Jaune’s aura break, not had she seen the would that would end his life inflicted, but she’d heard it. Turning to see him on the ground she ran to and tried to take him into her arms, forgetting that she could not touch him. He was dazed, clearly just barely clinging to consciousness. A heavy sod escaped her as she realized he was fading, this was a sight she never wanted to see. It shouldn’t be his time yet, while she did miss him she didn’t want her to be with him this way just yet. At first she thought she’d be forced to just watch him die there, until his gaze seemed to focus on her, and she heard him utter her name. He could see her. “Jaune, I’m so sorry.”
His gaze became blank after shed uttered those words, and the scene around them vanished.
Mad as frik rn and thoroughly disturbed. Ugh.
