Which like, I understand the temptation of having Jamie be the Captain Kirk of ROTG and go “where no man has gone before” ie Out with some Fae that decide not to fuck up his entire life I KNOW RIGHT FAE NOT BEING DICKS IS PROBABLY THE MOST FANTASTICAL THING ABOUT THAT IDEA
But see, there’s this other fan fic idea, that you will inevitably find for Jamie, where the Guardians all tell Jack “Nooooo Jack, you can’t keep seeing Jamie! He has to grow up and forget about you!”
Which in any other series or setting
Like just any other one like for real
I would drink that up into my angst-loving heart like it was cream
But I can’t get over the fact that like it just couldn’t happen effectively in ROTG/GOC
Like, I’m even excluding my headcanons of Katherine and Nightlight being a part of the Guardians, because let’s be fair, they would completely find the whole idea ludicrous because “North I was legit a human child turned Guardian DO YOU HEAR YOURSELF TALKING????”

First, Jack would never let it happen. Nope. Nada. Zippo accuracy whatsoever. Jack would absolutely hear that and be like “lol, I’m a do the thing” and just ollie out like, Jamie was his first believer. Jamie granted Jack’s most fervent and desperate wish and adores him. JAMIE NEARLY DIED FOR JACK OKAY NO, YOU DON’T UNDERSTAND, JACK WOULD PROBABLY GO NUTS NOT BEING ABLE TO SEE JAMIE AND FOR HIM TO JUST LET JAMIE FORGET HIM WOULD BE BEYOND CRUEL
Second, ahahahahahaa, Jamie would never allow it. It is absolutely a “distance makes the heart grow fonder” except with the added “and makes the brain go nuts.” Jamie would be those people who study the supernatural and spend every waking moment and every iota of energy on it, THIS IS A CHILD WHO LOOKS AT A NIGHTMARE AND IS LIKE “FIGHT ME” OKAY LIKE YOU CANNOT TELL ME JAMIE WOULD EVEN ALLOW THIS TO HAPPEN
Third, I could maybe see Tooth feeling she should maybe have the Guardians retract from Jamie’s life, considering bookwise she has seen the evils of humans encountering something supernatural. I could plausibly see Tooth feeling she and the other Guardians should retract from humans. I could maybe see Bunny, as he was also kind of like “oh humans are so dumb, doing dumb rash things, dumb silly humans,” in the books and he’s still kind of a stick in the mud, just a wee bit. Doubtful though, as Sophie as him wrapped around her pinky and I see him unwilling to give her up
But guys
North would just make it so hard to enforce it

who totally became a Guardian but he was just /that hardcore/

would absolutely invite Jamie to poke his head around
ACTUALLY I WANT THAT STORY
WHERE TOOTH TRIES TO TELL JACK THAT MAYBE IT’S BEST TO SEE JAMIE LESS
BECAUSE HUMANS AND GROWING AND BELIEF FADING BLAH BLAH
AND THEY LAND IN NORTH’S WORKSHOP WATCHING JAMIE RIDE A HORSE WITH TURBO THRUSTERS ALL ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
North whoops and hollars with glee the “rockat-a-horse is sucess! Huge sucess! Look! Little Jamie is reaching higher and higher speeds!”
which all three adults realize /why that’s a bad thing/
But right, you get the picture
Also, sort of 3.5 of this, Sandy would never allow it either like, implication that Jamie and the kids brought Sandy to life okay like this kid brought Sandy to life this kid is so getting rides in Sandy’s sand aircraft like this is so important you guys
TL;DR I appreciate the “must grow up and forget Jack Frost” narrative for Jamie but I also can’t see it happen because these people are insane for this kid and vice versa
