Yesterday I taught my three-year old-niece to play Simon Says, and because her baby brother was lying right there on the picnic blanket, one of the commands I gave her was, “Simon says touch a baby.” This made a greater impression on her than any other command, as evidenced when it was her turn to be Simon. She told me to touch a tree. Touch a bag. Touch leaves. Touch my nose.
And then she said delightedly, “TOUCH GRASS!” and that was completely unwarranted on her part.
