Favourite character: For a long, long time, it was Leonard.  Now it’s either Leonard or Bernadette.

Funniest character: Y’all are expecting me to say Sheldon, but I gotta go with Bernadette or Howard, they’ve really been killing it lately.

Best-looking character: Bernadette.  I have such a thing for Bernadette.

3 favourite ships: Leonard/Penny (one of the few ships I will actually call an OTP, I’m very stingy about using that), Howard/Bernadette, and Shamy. (I was what the fandom knows as a Sheldon Purist before Amy came along.  She totally changed my mind on how I felt about the idea of Sheldon Cooper being in a relationship.)

Least favourite character: Of the main seven, Raj.  He used to be my favorite.  But I hate how the writers have handled him the past few seasons.  Kunal deserves more than what he’s being given.

Least favourite ship: Sheldon/Penny *2009-10 ship war flashbacks* I’m sorry but I have no idea why that was ever a thing nope nope nope at least the writers didn’t go there like Rachel/Joey there’s another nope.

Reason why I watch it: It’s how I met some really, really important people (I honestly don’t know how I’d live without @untiltheveryend at this point), I love the characters, I love the ships, and it just means so much to me.  It’s been around for over 40% of my life at this point and it’s one of the few things that has been constant.  When it got big, suddenly being a dorky smart kid was...not quite cool, but not something to be ashamed of anymore.  It normalized people like me and that feels really good.  The two times I’ve been lucky enough to go to a taping (season six and season nine, the latter being the 200th episode) I’ve heard so many others in the audience talking about how the characters are just like them, and it feels so good.  And it does.

Why I started watching it: ok so we were in our camper in Mississippi in the summer of 2008 and it was gross and rainy and my anti-sitcom mother was in the campground office so my dad and little sister and I turned on the tv and we only got two channels some golf thing and a TBBT rerun (it was The Grasshopper Experiment) and I swear to god, I’d never laughed so hard in my life (our favorite part was Raj: “Back off Sheldon. If you do not stop hitting on my lady, you will feel the full extent of my wrath!” Sheldon: “I’m not hitting on her!” Lalita: “And I am not your lady!” Howard: “And you have no wrath.” plus Sheldon singing Fiddler on the Roof at the end.)  That fall, my dad was flipping through channels and found the season two premiere, which we watched because we’d liked the one we’d seen that summer so much.  And then we just kept watching, I fell in love with Leonard and Penny, and that was it.
