more. In the coming months, they just may prove themselves to be the next metal Gods to arise in the Bay Area. They have the right idea if anything and hopefully won’t defeat themselves by throwing vocal harmonies and niceities of that sort into thier songs. If they stick to developing European styles without any watering down Americanization they’ll be a heavy duty band to hear more from.
HEAD ON—More of a glitter and glam rock band than a real metal band. They are rather popular with the Metal Monday set, though they write songs that inspire me to wretch. I fail to see anything at all original in thier show. Sounding disgustingly pretty in the usual American way, I cant stand one bit of thier show. However I do have something nice to say for them OK? They are very tight and refined in a professional manner and quite good at thier own brand of pomp and roll. Lead guitarist Frank Wilsey is pretty damn good on that Strat of his (no Ulrich Roth mind you but give the guy a break) and drummer Howard Teman is quite an accomplished skinsman. Head On has commercially released a three song demo tape with “Nothing to Say”, “Danny” (laa-lalalaala), and “Take Me Home”, which is’nt demonstrative of all aspects of the band (the singer plays Keyboards too) but you do get the idea of what they’re doing.
