Most white dwarf stars have red eyes since they went through the red giant stage. Their red eyes are the only ones left from their red giant days.
They also look younger because they had shed their ‘old selves’ (as well as their memories) in a planetary nebula.
For the second question: All of them know (even the other celestial bodies other than planets) that everything will come to an end someday so they are in some ways prepared for whatever happens.Old Man Universe also knows he’ll be the last to die so he mentally prepares himself when that time comes he’ll be all alone.
