Book Review: How Rich People Think By Steve Siebold
So I have to be honest. I would not recommend buying this book. It is definitely a waste money. In my opinion, a lot of the things he says is really repetitive.
Middle Class envy those with money while the World Class thinks of money as a window of opportunities.
World Class believes in references and networking.
World Class believes being rich is obtainable.
Rich people love what they do.
Rich people believe in leverage.
Rich people use other rich people's money to get what they want.
Simple things that we, even the middle class, know is true to success. It is a very short read. It took nearly a day to finish. And if you know what it is that you're looking for it could even take a couple of hours. But even though I gained little information from this book, I did find somethings that were really useful. Like:
Middle Class believes the rich should support the poor... World Class believes in self reliance.
When you take charity from a specific entity, you are at their will. There is always a cost to using someone else's money and in some cases it means compromising yourself or losing integrity.
Self reliance in the money making world means freedom. It means that because you were independent in your success, you are also the sole person who gains from it. The only person that you have to answer to and the only person who receives the return on your investments and your time. It also means you get all the credit for you success.
I think of Napoleon Bonaparte's quotes about promises and frienship.
"The best way to keep one's word is not to give it."
"If you want a thing done well, do it yourself."
The only person that you can trust is yourself.
Middle Class believes the rich are selfish and Self Absorbed... World Class believes the rich are selfish and self absorbed.
Although they appear the same; the connotation is different. While middle class thinks of this as a bad thing, the rich uses selfishness toward their advantage.
The truth is that the only person that we have in this world is ourselves and while it is a good deed to be charitable, it is never okay to care for someone else more than you care for yourself. That's one of the main reason why we are so disappointed when one lets us down. Because we counted on that person to come through for us and in the end we are the most hurt.
It's as simple as saying put yourself first.
Middle Class is Timid and scared.... World Class is aggressive and bold.
Think about Miranda Priestly from Devil Wears Prada, Tony Montana from Scar Face, Wilhelmina Slater from Ugly Betty. Although they are fictional characters, they are also very aggressive success stories. Thinking one step ahead of the competition, throwing people under the bus to get what they want.They're mean but successful and to be honest there are very few nice guys in the money making industry.
Middle class doesn't connect travel with wealth... World Class knows travel connects them with the wealthy.
This one is pretty difficult. Most people don't have the finances to basque with the wealthy. A hotel room in Monte Carlo is around 2500 a night. Just going to the beach requires a minimum of 10,000 in Euros. But traveling goes back to networking. Everyone knows someone that knows someone. You might not have a direct connection to the rich Entrepreneur in Italy but you might meet someone who does. Knowing a man from Sweden could be your opportunity to crash on their couch, get a idea as to where to eat or club, even an opportunity to meet more people who can tell you how to act in a particular setting. There's nothing wrong with traveling and it can be in your best interest to introduce travel to your career plan.
