The Clochoderick Stone

Legend says that druids used this site for the dispensation of justice on this rocking stone. Whether the accused was innocent or guilty depended on which way the stone moved. It is also said that this stone marks the burial place of Rydderick Hael, Monarch of the Kingdom of Strathclyde (532-612AD).

Research establishes his crushing victory over paganism at Arthuret, near Carlisle in England, resulting in the conversion of the country to Christianity.

According to Folklore Clochoderick was a giant who had a stone in his shoe. When he took the stone out his shoe this is where he dropped it.

Elliston Tower is an 18th century folly on Kenmuir Hill, possibly built as a deer look out post on the Castle Semple Estate in 1760. This small tower and nearby gate arches are all that remain of the Semple family estate. The tower is located in the village of Howwood, Renfrewshire, Scotland
