Don’t know what kind of title that could be but some Jily with teen Harry or Jily dealing with hinny I don’t know
I'm adding this one without comment. Mostly. Except to say that this takes place in the beginning of Deathly Hallows, it's a slight AU, and you should assume the events in the books otherwise occurred like normal.
We Need To Talk About Harry
word count: 417
“James, we need to talk about Harry.”
She had started the conversation this way many times before. Times when there was a hard decision to make or a hard conversation they needed to have. It was never the fun things that started off that way. With the prophecy throwing Harry into the spotlight, and people finally believing him that Voldemort was back, these conversations seemed to happen more and more. Now that Dumbledore was dead, though, these conversations took on a different tone.
“I need you to listen to me first, and then you can… well, I need to just get it out.”
She took the continued silence as permission to continue.
“I’m worried about what he’s planning. I know we talked about his lessons with Dumbledore and how they were important, but what is he sending our son to do? I think…” she hesitated, afraid of the truth of what she was going to say, “I think he’s going to go off on his own to do… well, I’m not sure. I don’t know what Dumbledore has him doing, but I don’t like that he’s doing it alone. I guess he’ll have Ron and Hermione with him, but I’m his mother. Surely I should go? Surely I can help?
“I asked Remus to try to talk to him, but he didn’t get anywhere either. Harry’s been so closed off, especially since Sirius died. He has so many secrets. I’m so worried for him. Do you know that he even broke it off with Ginny? Neither of them will discuss it, but I think it’s some stupid noble thing he is doing for her protection. Which is horrifying, because does that mean my son won’t be safe? Who am I kidding, he hasn’t been safe since he was a baby.”
Lily paused, wiping tears from her face. She reached a hand out and touched the cold hard stone in front of her, tracing the letters of the words that reduced James’s life to a date of birth and a date of death. She had chosen the epitaph “Until the Very End” because she would love him until her end, and beyond if she could.
“I miss you, James. Every day. I know you gave yourself up to save Harry and I, but I wish you were here to do this with me. I don’t know how I’m supposed to do this without you.”
Lily leaned forward and pressed her lips to the headstone. “I love you, James.”

♡ harry potter & the deathly hallows part one (dir. david yates).
⤷ the last words that albus dumbledore said to the pair of us. “harry is the best hope we have. trust him.”
These are dark times, there is no denying. Our world has perhaps faced no greater threat than it does today. But I say this to our citizenry: We, ever your servants, will continue to defend your liberty and repel the forces that seek to take it from you! Your Ministry remains, strong.
f o r e s t o f d e a n; i came here once with mum and dad. that was years ago. it’s just how i remember it. the trees, the river, everything. like nothing’s changed… not true of course. everything’s changed. if i brought them back here now, they’d probably not recognize any of it. not the trees, not the river… not even me.
i will always resent the harry potter movies for not doing voldemort’s death scene justice. like, in the book, it’s just the best moment, the one we all had been waiting for, with a badass, calm harry who tells voldemort he understands much, much more than him, and knew more than voldemort even dared to think he did, who basically makes voldemort look like a fool, who gives voldemort a chance to feel remorse, and all of that in front of everyone in the great hall, scared but amazed by their hero harry james potter don’t touch me
