Being with Barnaby means being subjected to various magical creatures often. Which... okay creatures aren't exactly her favourite thing. But it is pretty cute seeing Barnaby get all excited over them. His excitement can be pretty infectious after all. That poor niffler tho...

so a lil preface: I like finding fc's for characters, just so I have a consistent reference. and I found this one pic of the guy I've been using for barnaby holding a lil birb and LEMME TELL YOU. i needed to make this edit instantly. it was the perfect pose + had the sorta infectious smile barnaby absolutely has.

HPHM SCENES o1.

Despite Edie's reminder, Barnaby still forgot his scarf when setting of for Hogsmeade earlier that day. Only to be met with an early December squall as they're heading back. Oh well, he'll just borrow her scarf next time. He already has her hat, something he never plans on giving back. Might as well start a collection.

I kno I said I'm tired of hp, BUT LIKE, this is an idea I've been wanting to try forever, and I finally had the smallest semblance of an idea of how to start it, so I just sat myself down and got over my fear of failure, and made this. and O M G I'm so so so happy with how this turned out

obvs this is inspired by @/blvnk-art potterframes, but I wanted to give it a go with my bbys. barnaby's face was a struggle, cause I ended up reshaping it / adjusting stuff, but overall this was a fun learning experience

ain't they just both look so purdy???? I'm obsessed with how real this looks

HPHM SCENES o3.

From the time Barnaby asked Edie to the Celestial Ball, it two the two almost a year and a half to finally get together. Officially, they began dating in late into their fifth year. It took Edie nearly a whole year to recognize that yes, she is in fact crushing on her fellow Slytherin. And for that whole year, Rowan relentlessly teased her bestfriend friend over that unfortunate fact. Truthfully, Edie was doing her best to avoid these feelings. The whole idea of a relationship - having someone so close to her and being so emotionally vulnerable - it scares Edie. It's everything her instincts tell her to flee from. But she trusts Barnaby. So maybe it won't be all too bad.

I both love this one one and do not. All my energy went into editing edie's outfit here. which I'm SUPER proud of. and had non for the background. So instead get them hanging out in the calls, probably between classes. my friends and I often did that enough, I bet they would too. plus, I didn't feel like just placing them on the grass in the training grounds or smth.

this mostly came about b/c I found an fc for barnaby I rEALLY LIKE, like dude's got the jawline that barn needs, and then I saw tHIS POSE and the idea struck me, so have a blushy barnadie, as rowan teases them about fINALLY getting together, after dancing around one another for a year ehehe~

HPHM SCENES o2.

At some point between the multiple traumatic experiences and general chaos of the school year, Edie and Merula form a tentative.... well friendship isn't the word Edie would use for it. But it's an understanding. It's a painfully honest, rather sarcastic, and always blunt camaraderie that Edie finds herself turning more and more towards, the worse things get. Merula can claim to hate Edie all she wants, and Edie can return the sentiment each time, but both know they're lying. When you've seen the other at her lowest, it's hard to hide that vulnerability under anger anymore.

this might not be as good as the last one but I DON'T CARE i loooove the vibe of it ahahahah

this is part of edie's story y6 and on. her an merula form a weird friendship much to the side-eye of their fellow classmates. but it's part they just have similar sense of dry sarcasm (even tho merula is far more outgoing than edie will ever be), and apparently few traumatic experiences can be the basis of a friendship.

also the forever weight of parental and societal expectations, and having the wrong family name. soooooo insert awkward, angry, vulnerable conversations when there's no one else around to treat as a punching bag, except the one who's already seen your worst.
