The better half's computer is FINALLY working. You know it was bad when the tech you pay to wire it (because you are ready to throw it through a window) says HP had shit ass backwards.
So basically I got it working all the way around, but couldn't test it because I couldn't get the front panel connections (Power Switch, Power Light, HD Light, Reset Switch) to connect. So I basically had really nice electronics. So after 5 hours (and an angry Tumblr rant) I went to sleep, and took it to my local tech the next morning. Had it back within 2 hours, and only 20 bucks charged. Awesome people. And apparently, because I was able to get it working, and cheaply, on top of the regular things I do, I am a "dream man." NICE! :-D
Then I picked up my old desktop from the people I sold it to, since it was "dead." I was reminded of the premise of House --- Everybody lies. Computers don't just die. Some component stops working. The power supply apparently was dead, which I confirmed with my own diagnosis and second opinion. But upon probing, I was able to worm out that "it was making a lot of noise" and" was getting really hot. Truth of the affair? They didn't dust out the inside regularly, the case fans stopped working, and the power supply went kerplunk.
So with all of that, I was unable to do ANYTHING I wanted to do this weekend until Sunday afternoon, at which point I was too tired to do much more than empty my car, clean my desk, and put all the extra stuff into the garage.
So my task for this week is to close out our fiscal year, and then relax starting Friday. Here's hoping.
As far as my journey, I have been lightly reading a Runes workbook, which is the title, and it reads well, but it is meant to study from day to day. I absorb information in large amounts. But then, I guess that doesn't matter. When you want something to be a day to day practice, you do it each and every day.
I didn't even read the Bible every day when I was a Christian. I read it in large chunks and absorbed the meaning that way. Then I could recall or quote as needed. I do not have eidetic memory (not by a long shot -- see: me trying to find keys), but I do have a fairly good memory.
Anywho, that's all for now.. time to go get some work done and do some reading through my kindle books.
