setting down the pencil, he presses the clip at the top of the drawing board to release the paper. with careful fingers he holds it up and blows on it lightly before turning it around to show the other with a beaming smile.  ‘ ta-da ! ’  he reveals a rough caricature of the person opposite him, just a practice run until he officially opens up shop in half an hour when the brew’s festivities officially begin. he even rushed over from his last final to get into costume as the WORLD’S TALLEST ELF and set up his station.  ‘ do you like it ? ’  he asks eagerly,  ‘ i can clean up the lines a little but i wanted to show you first. ’

with a heavy hand, a plastic container was placed on the counter. a suspiciously sweet smile on her face as she placed one hand down and twisted to rest her elbow on the counter, then her chin on her fist. “ gotta question for you, “ she started without a prompt, trying to keep her expression lively even though her eyes were only slightly enthused. “ would you be willing to try these delectable freshly baked goods ? the only cost is your time and telling me your honest review. “ she quirked a brow, tapping her finger on the counter. their faux sweetness was quickly failing, but hopefully the potential treat would get the other to agree even without it.
