Feb 2026 UPDATE: Passed the House again. Tell your Senators to block it.

It would require in person voter registration with birth certificates or passports that match your current name. This would unfairy impact BIPOC voters, plus:

Up to 69 million women whose names changed.

Trans Americans whose names changed.

Disabled Americans with limited mobility.

DV survivors who can't safely access their docs.

Rural Americans who'd have to drive hours.

Immigrant citizens not originally born here.

Working Americans lacking time off to register.

Americans who can't afford passports.

Americans with executive dysfunction.

Trans and nonbinary people needing passports.

REPUBLICANS LOVE VOTER SUPPRESSION. It always helps them and hurts the rest of us. They know this. In 2025, they blocked ammendments aimed at protecting voting rights of eligible citizens. The GOP is afraid of fair elections. Spread the word, make some noise. Let's hold these cowards accountable. And pls take care of yourself 💙

Remember the SAVE Act? Well it just passed the House. Women, trans people and anyone who changed their name since birth are one step closer to having our ability to vote stripped away. If your rep is a Republican or one of the 4 Dems who voted for it, call them and tell them how much you disapprove of what they did. If you have a Democratic senator (or two) call them to tell them that they and their fellow Democrats MUST NOT vote for this bill if it hits the Senate floor.

The SAVE Act, H.R. 22, is a direct attack on voting rights, and we must stop it from passing. This bill would create unnecessary new barriers by forcing voters to show documentary proof of citizenship, such as a passport or birth certificate, just to register to vote and will require faulty voter roll purges that will lead to eligible voters being disenfranchised. It's a bill based on lies about widespread voter fraud and it threatens to block millions of eligible Americans from voting who lack easy access to these records due to financial or systemic barriers. Fill out this form to email your Representative and urge them to VOTE NO on the SAVE Act—take action today to protect our democracy and our rights! If passed, the SAVE Act would: - Create Barriers for Millions of Voters: Over 21 million Americans lack easy access to the documents this law would require for voter registration. - Target Marginalized Communities: Voters of color, naturalized citizens, young and older voters, and individuals with low incomes would face the biggest hurdles. - Increase Erroneous Voter Roll Purges: More frequent and erroneous purges of registered voters, even in some cases voters who have been registered and voted for years. - Impede Election Administration: This bill imposes significant burdens and costs on state and local election officials—who are already vastly underfunded and understaffed—and imposes criminal and civil liability to their everyday activities. - Repeat Past Failures: Kansas implemented a similar law over a decade ago that disenfranchised over 35,000 eligible voters before courts struck it down as unconstitutional. Congresswoman Dexter introduced amendments that would've required states to ensure the SAVE act would not suppress the votes of married women, people of color, DV survivors, people with disabilities, and other specific groups (one per amendment). Republicans blocked each amendment because that's what the bill is for. They know there's no way to guarantee the act won't disenfranchise these people because the bill was designed to disenfranchise millions of voters.
