For every HR professional, dealing with individuals especially with their different emotions can be a difficult task. But, it is their profession that they are supposed to deal with keeping their best foot forward. Workplace is flooded with emotions however how hard one tries to leave them at the doors. Dealing with them at workplace is unavoidable. Presence of many emotions is a default fact for anyone from us. In fact, it is biologically…...Our emotions determine most of our behavior. Expecting that the workplace remains emotion-free is simply unrealistic. Employees going to workplace carry their different emotions - excitement, happiness, worries, laughter, anger, sadness, frustration and even humanity.
Actions at workplace lead to several different emotional responses. People can irritate, frustrate and hurt their colleagues. Individuals sitting at top levels can hurt feelings of employees through thoughtlessness and insensitive behaviors, unaccommodating policies and practices, poor management, unfair decision-making and uncooperative expectations.

Personal conditions also lead one towards different emotional flows. The collective disturbance from personal and workplace conditions make one overflowing with different emotions at a single time. All these things can manifest different yet negative emotions flowing in the workplace. What employers can do; they should welcome the emotions and try to work on better management and handling of emotions of emotional employees. Understand the Signals
By considering the body language, types of words, tone, facial expressions, you can better judge the emotional situation of employees or you can read through these acts how emotional the employees are. You can judge the employees’ feeling through these signals.
Sympathizing is Winning
It is often noticed that employers are not concerned or take the personal problems of employees seriously. One of the responsibilities of professionals who are associated with HR jobs is to sympathize with those who are hurt or having some personal issues.

HR should understand the triggers that are triggering the emotional behaviour of employees. One needs to understand what situation or issues are causing them. HR professionals should refrain themselves from pre-judging about why the employee is responding in the way that they are.

Once you are able to understand the problems, you can bring positive changes at the workplace. Professionals can personally talk to the employees and take suggestions to better deal with emotional situations occurring in a working environment.
