bruno's thoughts about pepa is... complicated. it started off as simply as just childish fun, but somewhere along the way -- things were more than just sibling's picking on each other. maybe it was bruno pushing things too far. maybe it was when pepa's name-calling started to get more personal... but sometime, bruno grew to hate his sister. julieta had become a lost cause to him, but pepa... them outgrowing each other was more hurtful to him. and because he was never sure how to handle emotions, he only grew to hate her more and more as time went by. he stopped feeling bad about making her upset. he didn't care. he didn't care if he hurt her feelings. if he caused a hurricane. and he certainly wasn't bothered that he ruined her wedding.

What HAPPENED to you?

I don’t UNDERSTAND you. As kids things didn’t seem to be so BAD, and now…the more VISIONS you made, the WORSE you got. Or maybe you’ve always been TERRIBLE.

It really feels like you did things to HURT me on PURPOSE, hermano. I love you—but why do you want me to be UNHAPPY? I don’t UNDERSTAND you. I don’t think I ever HAVE. Was I a BAD sister? Is this MY fault?

I STILL never got an answer—WHY did you ruin my WEDDING? You know how I GET—You KNEW I would be ANXIOUS and you ruined it anyway. You ruin EVERYTHING. Anything BAD that happens…it always comes back to YOU.

Please; STAY AWAY. From my children, from our FAMILY. You are a CURSE.

As a time traveler, Mephiles is seldom surprised by anything anymore. History is predictable -- bleak, meaningless and repetitive. So when he happens upon someone who can supposedly see your future, it's laughable, a source of amusement outside that of his own abilities. How curious he is to see a perspective from another set of eyes.

At least, until his fortune becomes pointed, and he is no longer laughing. Akin with many a trait of a time traveler, he knows who and what are destined to end. Does that do anything to soothe his rage, anything to bring him joy that all will be brought to justice? Mephiles cares little for this world, but that little amount is just enough to edge his tone like a blade.

Dolores' face fell instantly, her hand still gripping Tio Bruno's clothes but with much less intent.

She didn't even have a dream man yet, but she had hoped that there was someone waiting for her. A prince, like in fairy tales, or a baker, or a musician, or someone who made her laugh as much as Papi did for Mami. Someone tall, and handsome, and kind... and learning that he existed but would never be hers was maybe worse than him not existing at all.

"Are you sure? Can you check again? Maybe you just saw it wrong! M-maybe it was... never mind."

Not knowing what else to do, Dolores just looked up at him and bit her quivering lip.

"Gracias, Tio Bruno. For trying."

She KNOWS he doesn’t want to go back to the ENCANTO—he’s made that VERY clear, and she had agreed to leave WITH him, though her DOUBTS started to RISE within her. She had no REAL attachment to the ENCANTO itself—but her CHILDREN—

Their entire LIVES were there. Their FRIENDS. Everything they have ever KNOWN. How could she RIP that away from them.
