hi everyone, sorry for not posting in a while! i’m sure a lot of briize have heard of the recent controversies with riize and while i’ve been up to date, i’ve had a lot of life transitions recently and that’s why it’s been a while since i’ve been active.
everyone is free to have their own takes and do their own research on whether they’ll continue to support the boys or not, but my belief is to always hold someone accountable if they did something wrong. eunseok said something insensitive and he deserves to be on the hot seat. the phrase he used was derogatory and insensitive to poc, specifically black people. i’m not black, so i can’t speak on whether people should accept his apology or not, but i am a poc that sincerely empathizes and knows what it feels like to have derogatory words used to describe me. what he said, even when describing himself as a child, was harmful and shines on light on his internal colorist views.
at the end of the day, we don’t know these men on a deeper level, and our morals and beliefs should not be jeopardized just to keep ourselves happy as fans. humans are forever learning and improving but, at the same time it’s important to hold people accountable. i genuinely don’t give a gaf on what other briize do with this situation, as long as they don’t blindly support eunseok and in turn, any of the other boys as fans.
i personally will be stepping away from supporting riize for the moment, but because of a combination of things! not just this recent issue but because my life is also in big changes right now. i’ll just keep everything on pause until i can enjoy this hobby of mine again! thanks for reading my rant <3
