all day i’ve been thinking of the clip of harry styles stroking the watermelon with just the tip of his finger and i literally lose my mind every time. it shouldn’t be sexy, it really shouldn’t but it is and i thank him for it.

Here’s a quote that sums it all up, from his NPR interview: “When I listen back to the first album now, although I still love it so much, I feel like I was almost bowling with the bumpers up a little bit. I can hear places where I was playing it safe.” How that equals him trashing HS1...I don’t see it. So no, my earlier ask wasn’t interpretation. My interpretation is that he was scared to go too poppy on HS1–he said in the newer RS interview “you have to conquer the fear of pop.”

I did not listen to the NPR interview. I stand corrected, or maybe his first few interviews caused a course correction by his team to be sure that people understood he wasn’t disavowing HS1. I’ll listen to that interview today.
