Hey all! A quick note about our updated application. I’ve finally settled on something I think is a bit more streamlined than our current app. However, because we’ve only got a few days until our next acceptances, I’m going to go ahead and accept either the new or current app on Monday.
If you’ve already submitted your app, or have been working on it and plan to submit it for our upcoming acceptances, you can use our current app. If you haven’t started an app yet, you should use the new app, which will be below a read more on this post.
After Monday, we will be switching over to the new application, and the old version will not be accepted. So, without further ado, click on the read more to get a look at our new streamlined app. Feel free to let me know if you have any questions!

more.
i. personality
provide a description of this character’s personality. include two weaknesses & two strengths. ( note: it’s best avoid sentences that begin with phrases like “i plan to portray...” your app will come across much better if you remain in character. )
ii. the story so far
this is your opportunity to delve into the major events that led this character up to this point. you can elaborate on the bio, but should also explore some further development. be sure to include how the war has affected this character, emotionally and otherwise.
iii. present day
elaborate on where this character currently stands. it’s highly suggested to take a look at our timeline and latest plot and world updates to try to fit this character into what’s currently happening in the roleplay. also feel free to elaborate on any relationships this character may have with others.
extra.
here you can list or add any extras you created to get a sense of this character. that can include graphics, writing samples, mock blogs, etc. apps that have extras won’t have an advantage over apps that don’t, although it can help me further understand your grasp of the character.
Hello all! Just a quick update from me. Our little world is expanding! I’ve added a page with some information on a system the Order uses to hide messages in the Daily Prophet. Let me know if you have any questions about how it all works. Also, this is for current members and anyone who’s interested in joining -- I’d definitely keep an eye out on the main for some pages from the Daily Prophet in the coming weeks. It just might help you find some hidden information on the upcoming characters.
Also! Just a reminder that we’ve got a character prompt out about the return of the muggleborn census. The prompt is optional, but a word to the wise, it might be helpful to sort out your character’s thoughts on the census, because this isn’t the last time you’ll be hearing about it.
The return of a blood status question on the upcoming wizarding census shows Voldemort and the death eaters still retain a grip on the wizarding world, despite the apparent ceasefire between them and the Order. In this prompt you’re encouraged to explore your character’s reaction to the news, and consider how it might affect them if they weren’t hidden away in Godric’s Hollow.
NOTE: Character prompts are fully optional for players. They simply give you an opportunity to explore another part of your character and develop them within the confines of the plot. Prompts can be completed in a number of ways (character q&a’s, self paras, etc.) It’s up to you if, and how you take part. To get everyone started, I’ve listed some possible questions to explore below the read more.
How is your character reacting to the news?
How would this affect them if they weren’t in Godric’s Hollow?
Are they worried about their family or friends?
Do they think the Order should do something to protect those who may be targeted because of the census? What?
A letter, found by Dorcas Meadowes while sorting through the mail at the owl post office in Hogsmeade (x).
Rodolphus. I hope this letter finds you well.
Alecto and I remain in the countryside on your orders. We haven’t found much. We’ve raided a few muggle towns, left a few witches and wizards bruised and bloody along the way. Alecto has even put a few muggleborns in the ground, but you know there’s no stopping her taste for blood. Despite all that, we still haven’t any clue as to where they are. There’s not much to go on from that radio broadcast. The Chittock girl apparated as soon as we broke into the building she was broadcasting from. She left all of her equipment behind, so I doubt we’ll be hearing from her again soon.
We’ve seen Fawcett a few times too. Haven’t come face to face with her yet, but she might know something we don’t. We’ll meet her soon, and write back with any new information. For now, we’re still in Ottery St. Catchpole, awaiting any new orders.
Hey everyone! Just a quick note from me. Our in game date has officially changed, and we’re now in early February. You’re welcome to wrap up your current plots, and if you have any you’d been planning to write for the end of January, you’re okay to write those as well, but other than that all future plots should be set sometime between February 1-17. Our next plot drop will move us into the back half of February, so until then make sure all threads are somewhere within the range mentioned.
I’ll also be adding all major plot details that happened during January to our timeline in the next few days. If there’s anything your character did outside of the plot drop and event that you think should be added, shoot me a message.
Other than that, if you have any questions about the in game date change, or anything else, the ask box is open.
After a lot of waiting, working and editing coding (thanks Emily!) the missing and dead page is finally up! It’s called “lost souls,” which I think suits the nature of this roleplay because people that are lost, can certainly be found again, under the right circumstances.
The page details when characters either went missing or died, lists a few adjectives to describe their personality, and shares a bit of info about their death or disappearance. If you have any questions about a specific character, let me know, and Ill tell you what I can. However, I can’t tell you when/if a character will surface in Hollowed Souls and if they’ll become playable. I’ll be around for a short while longer tonight if anyone has any questions.
Dozens of candlesticks; some burned to the base, others never once kissed by flame. The Order found dozens of them in the homes they’d cleaned out. They were collected, tossed into bags, and left forgotten in a shed they’d repurposed to house their supplies, which at this point mostly consists of odds and ends found throughout Godric’s Hollow. Discarded by those who found them, it was Charity who saw purpose in the candles. Dark days had left them all feeling defeated, and many were desperate for even a brief glimpse of the light. Charity, along with Arthur who was overcome with grief for his missing wife, planned a candlelight vigil for their lost souls, missing and dead. It was meant to bring closure to those who needed it, and a renewed hope to those who weren’t done fighting yet.
EVENT DETAILS:
The event will last through April 26.
Threads posted today through April 18 should be “pre-vigil.” Charity and Arthur would have just announced their intention to hold the vigil. Is your character helping Charity and Arthur plan at all? Do they plan to attend? Has the announcement forced any feelings to resurface?
The vigil itself will be held beginning April 19. Threads at or during the vigil can be posted through April 26.
For plot purposes, the vigil is being held on January 25, 1982 at 9 p.m. just outside the Godric’s Hollow Cemetery, where the board stands featuring photos of the missing.
