Nishan: So you didn't feel pressure to date me?

Sakura: I did, but not from you. It's hard to explain.

Sakura: You're my best friend. I was never good at making friends. And I really really worried about losing you. Someone like Payton would notice and say "Awww that's so cute you have a little crush". And I didn't have a better explanation. But it doesn't matter why I was jealous! I had no right to control you.

Nishan: Thanks. I needed to hear that.

Hi, how were you able to create the full body of Sakura from High School Story?

Ohohoh I'm glad you asked! It's a long and tricky process, but I'll explain it as best I can. With visual aid.

Originally I'd just grab a random bare body asset, adjust it to her skintone, assemble the face sprite assets onto it, and then edit new outfits accordingly.

Since the original sprite was posed with a hand on her hip, I went with the "fem junior" bodytype (used for f!Dakota from WEH and f!Drew from RWB). But it didn't feel quite right to how her original sprite looked... so I decided to do it a different way.

First I'd piece together the original sprite. Then I'd go through the files to pick a full-body sprite that suited her– I went with that of Kamilah from Bloodbound instead. I made color adjustments as necessary to match Sakura's skintone.

Then I'd use the liquify filter tool (I use Photoshop/Photopea) to adjust the body to fit onto the pose that the original sprite gave us. Including making the left hand more like the hand on the original sprite.

Then, I'd need to merge the parts from her original sprite that were bare, to the body sprite. The original sprite shows a bare arm and one full hand, so I cropped it out from the original sprite, and (as shown in the above photos) erased the parts from the body asset that were going to be replaced.

I'd use the spot repair tool to make up for small gaps from the cropped arms and shoulders (where the straps of her dress were)

Then using air brush, air eraser, smudge tool, spot repair tool, and liquify tool, I'd merge the two pieces together.

And of course, I needed to adjust the thumb nail on the left hand

And we got our Sakura sprite! Ready to dress up in various outfits! :DDD

As for the outfit... I always make sure to keep the outfit leftovers when I cropped out the bare skin and arm.

So now I just need to add the bottom part. How exactly I add the bottom part depends on the top outfit piece itself, but for this one, I cropped out the lower white part, and added new skirt and leggings, to make the outfit fairly similar to her outfit from the original Prime game.

The skirt is recolored from f!Hayden's harajuku outfit from PM, and the leggings come from the thigh high stockings accessory from QB MC, adjusted accordingly with the godsend that is the liquify tool. Shading was added with the burn tool.

And that's how I made full-body Choices Sakura!

The process can vary, but I use these basic techniques to make full-body sprites of other half-body characters in HSS. The other ones I've shared so far are Myra and Mia, and I also have a couple for other characters such as Julian, Payton, Sydney, and Koh, as well as new outfits for the characters I have completed, that I haven't shared yet/am still working on.

Doesn’t matter how much I love Choices!HSS, I will always be upset that the friendships from the OG!HSS characters weren’t shown enough, if at all. We get Julian, Nishan, Payton and Mia at the beginning of Book 1 and a scene with all of them acknowledging each other at the end of Book 3 but what about in between?

Things that bothered me (not in order):

1. Why was Payton the only one that visited Mia at the hospital after she broke her leg? Where were Julian, Autumn, Wes, Nishan, Sakura, Koh and Ezra?

2. The whole JulianxAutumnxWes triangle was so stupid in my opinion because Julian and Wes are best friends???? Julian wouldn’t do that to Wes????

3. Why did we only get scenes with Mia, Payton, Julian and Ezra arguing over what Isa was doing and not with everyone else from their group? Wes was against Isa and Autumn was a Hall Monitor, what about Koh? Sakura? Nishan?

There’s more but for now those are 3 things I remember from memory ig, I just wanted to see at least small glimpses of their friendship cuz they are all best friends but it didn’t look like that during HSS.

I need help....

Ok so, from what i grasp from hss prime (the game before either book series) and hss the book is that mc prime graduated at least a year before the events of hss, the first triolgy.

Ok i can accept that.

Hss the original trilogy had nishan, Sakura, Koh, Wes, julian, autumn, and Payton graduate. That means that they're a year younger.

What is this timeline

Ive been at this for fifteen minutes, i can't figure it out.

Hss prime implies that all the characters are the same age in the same grade, we know from the trilogy thats not the case because prime mc(and the characters you had to get with rings, i assume) have graduated. They have to be at least a year older than the main group.

Except Mia still goes to berry in hss class act, implying she's original MC's (this is becoming tedious if i say kevin, assume hss prime,if i say gabe,it's the original books, and if i say Cal, assume class act) age or a year older.

She can't be Gabe's age because we'd see her in at least one of the classroom segments. Maybe she's Aiden and Maria's age, but it's never implied that's the case and it would mean that Aiden and Maria where possibly at the school when kevin was there and neither of them ever act like they met or heard of said person other than as a legend of some sort and there's no way that's possible just based on what happens in that game alone and do to the fact that Kevin would have been the one predominantly in charge of everything that point.

This timeline and these characters make my head hurt from the revelations, because there's no way Kevin could have been an freshman in has prime nor can he have been a sophomore because of Mia's existence alone.

He could have been a junior and everything would fit with the characters. But then he would only be at berry for two years, no way can anyone realistically do what he did in two years (establish a school/plan events/join and popularize a band that was ignored in hss original) and it would mean that Kevin would have to graduate exactly a year before everyone became a senior. Which means beffy high became less berry high in three months before school started, which isn't realistic, and Gabe came on to the scene which doesn't add up with the fact that people talk about/reference said character as if it where ages ago

The only other possibility is that that Kevin was a senior while the others where sophmores and in Mia's case a freshman. Meaning Kevin would have been gone a year going on two when the original trilogy takes places but that means he has even less time to do what happens in the game which makes less sense.

The books act like hss prime didn't happen but have a fucking statue in this goddamn school that recognizes the previous events and I'm so damned confused and this point I'm hearing the twilight zone music as type this

What is going on? How old is prime mc? How come people talked about prime mc like their a legend when he can't have graduated that long ago?

'Sakura is seriously underrated as side characters go. She was hilarious and her gamer culture was on point. I died laughing when she called Principle Isa "the final boss” during the chase scene, and Aiden an "NPC" during the food fight.
