summary:

In a last-ditch attempt to save the Starlight Theater from shutting down, Alice Woodward puts on her new musical, The Trail to Oregon, with the help of Professor Hidgens. Now she's juggling rehearsals on top of her relationship with Deb, her struggles with her dad, and a cast that has plenty of their own problems...

Ted Spankoffski is attempting to get back into theatre, manage his feelings for Charlotte Sweetly, and not strangle the oddly-friendly Sam in the process. Meanwhile, Zach and Zoey Chambers are out for blood, and Melissa is trying to prevent her younger siblings from killing each other—or getting caught in the crossfire. And Ruth Fleming is hoping to conquer her anxiety and finally fulfill her dream of performing onstage.

Bill just wants his daughter back.

today i got to explain the entire hatchetfield series to my friend (who was losing their mind throughout it) and THEN explain my ~20 future fics worth of lore for my hthm! au (which they were genuinely interested in and appreciative of) and THEN i made them a presentation breaking down all the hatchetfield stories bc they were interested in getting into the series and the level of joy i'm feeling is TRULY indescribable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

started outlining chapter 25 of a story so astronomical and all of a sudden i have a paragraph of sweetly family lore that didn't exist in this au five minutes ago

if the hatchetfield theatre is the starlight theatre do y'all have any thoughts on what the clivesdale theatre would be called? i'm trying to figure out a name for it in my fic but i cannot think of anything other than the cosmos theatre 😅

realizing the stark difference in endings for the latest a story so astronomical chapters and laughing to myself bc it really is just:

sam at the end of chapter 25: despite my rampant infidelity i do care about charlotte which is why i can't end our marriage, it would utterly destroy her

zoey at the end of chapter 24: i'm the best! time to go fuck a married cop

(also really funny that the chapter 23 ending is alice going "surely there won't be any cast drama, right?" oh babygirl it has hardly even begun)
