I am losing interest in those music asks. I don't like it when other people post about music all the time, either. So, I am going to quit. Only made it a week, whatever. I should have known. I think I know myself...

I didn’t do a music ask today, because today’s was “A song that makes you happy,” and I honestly could not think of one. I enjoy listening to good music, therefore, even a sad song will make me “happy”. I don’t have the same emotional connections to music that a lot of people around here do. So no music for today. Listen to something that makes you happy instead.
Music Asks Day Eight
8: A song about drugs or alcohol
When I was in high school, for Health class I had to write a paper about songs that had references to drugs or alcohol. I quoted a few songs, including this one by Guns N’ Roses, that told the truth about how terrible drugs can be. I got a bad grade on that paper, and I realized that what the teacher actually wanted (but did not specifically ask for) was a list of popular songs that glorified drugs. She wanted a paper that supported her narrative that teens are being bombarded by positive messages about drugs and booze, and I had to go and ruin it all by thinking for myself. Whoops!

7: A song to drive to
It is said that when you play music while driving, your view will naturally take on the characteristics of the music that you are listening to. From personal experience, I know that listening to this soundtrack while driving at night will deliver a feeling of paranoia and desperation. Only listen to this if you want to feel like somebody’s following you with the intent to murder you.

Traffic violations and speeding tickets not included.

6: A song that makes you want to dance
“D.M.S.R.” by Prince. (Although there is a YouTube version of the song, I am not going to embed it here because of Prince’s feelings about his music, which I would like to respect. But feel free to seek it out yourself. It’s out there.)
The truth is, I am not a dancer, and no song really wants to “make me dance”. But this is an awesome groove.
