Huawei to come up with 5G equipment manufacturing in France

Chinese telecom company, Huawei has said that it will begin manufacturing of radio equipment for 5G network in France. A facility worth 200-million-euro (USD 218-million) will provide employment to 500 people and produce equipment for the European market, Huawei Chairman Liang Hua said in a press conference in Paris.

Huawei in talks with US companies for licensing 5G technology

In September, CEO Ren Zhengfei said his company was ready to license its 5G business to a third party in order to ease the fear of spying.   

Now Reuters reports that Huawei is in early-stage talks with several US telecommunications companies for the licensing mentioned, citing Vincent Pang, senior vice president and board director at the company.  

“There are some companies that talk to us, but it would take a long journey to really finish everything. They have shown interest. ”- Vincent Pang  

"There are currently no 5G providers in the US and European rivals Ericsson and Nokia are generally more expensive," the report notes.
