Say I do || Huei
@princess-mei
Huey was nervous.
Which, lets be honest... wasn’t that strange for him. He was a very nervous creature. If he was an animal (and no he was not about to argue the point that humans are animals, that would be digressing), he would probably be one of those very tall, skinny dogs that shake constantly. A lurcher — he felt that he and lurchers had a lot in common.
But lurchers probably had their reasons for being all nervous and shaky, just as Huey did right now. He had a very good reason, in fact, but he was trying desperately to push down his nerves, because they would do him no good today. Sometimes nerves were good, he knew that. Being on high alert meant you were more able to react to things, which meant that you were more prepared, and Huey loved being prepared. More than he loved a decently sized backpack, or the trusty red cap that he always wore (and carried in his decently sized backpack).
But he was prepared for today. Admittedly it was a plan that had been thrown together recently, when he had realised that prom was coming up and that he probably wasn’t going to go, except that this was his last prom, so he should maybe make an effort, except that he didn’t want to go alone, so he should probably ask someone, but who to ask?
Well. The answer had come to him just as quickly as the question had. Which was why Huey had come to work on some set pieces for the play today, fully intending on hijacking practice so he could ask Mei to go to prom with him.
Which was why, instead of working on set pieces like he was definitely meant to be doing, Huey was sat at the very back of the auditorium with a microphone. He waited for a lull, whilst the actors and the ensemble cast got themselves ready to start the next scene, and then he switched it on.

Woop! Another finished!
Second piece of fanart for @eirianerisdar ‘s fic, The Silent Song. (Again, go read. Now. NOW.) This time, it’s Huei Tori.
He actually took a lot less time than I anticipated, which is good, since I have to go do my school soon, and the speedpaint won’t take so long to process. I took a few creative liberties (he’s a bit older, so I could achieve those majestically flowing headtails, his Padawan braid is longer, the freckles were kinda a “must-have” in my head) but other than that I tried to stay level with all the details provided.
I’m not entirely sure why exactly I made his cloak look like coca-cola. It seemed to fit well with the overall scheme, and his skin already had little freckles so.
(What is it with my obsession with sparkles?!)
As you can see, I wasn’t so ambitious in my background this time xD
Thanks to @americankimchi and @halpdevon - their previous (and STUNNING!) art of Huei was a huge help with color references.
Speedpaint link will be up sometime this weekend, if I can help it.
Hope you like it! (now go read the dang fanfiction)
