2018 EMMY AWARD NOMINEE JUDGE MABLEAN EPHRIAM PRESENTS THE 16TH ANNUAL HONORING UNSUNG FATHERS AWARDS AND SCHOLARSHIP BRUNCH

(Los Angeles) June 3, 2018 - TV favorite Judge Mablean Ephriam finds herself in a season of celebrations, from her BIG birthday bash in Washington DC to her Emmy Celebration and ultimately Emmy Award Show. However, nothing is more important to her than the 2018 Unsung Fathers Awards (HUF) and Scholarship Brunch.
The 16th Annual Unsung Fathers Awards will be held on Father's Day, June 17th 2018 1:00pm-4:00pm at the Long Beach Hilton Hotel, 701 West Ocean Blvd., Long Beach, California with Red Carpet beginning at noon.
The HUF Awards have become the most anticipated and happening Father’s Day Event in the Los Angeles area. It is a hallmark event of support, appreciation, and celebration for fathers. It is also the annual fundraiser of the Mablean Ephriam Foundation, (MEF), a nonprofit 501C-3 organization. Most of the proceeds are used to provide scholarships for inner city, underprivileged and low income high school graduates.
The focus of the HUF Awards, since its inception, has been to honor fathers who have seemingly been forgotten or underappreciated and to continually highlight the importance of fathers in our urban communities.
In line with its mission to educate minds, MEF will also award five college scholarships. Two (2) new scholarships are being granted to 2018 graduates, and three continuing scholarships for 2017 recipients to ensure that students are able to complete their college education.
Additionally, a Bernice Jones Nursing Scholarship and a Mable Ephriam Nursing Scholarship will be given to 2 students studying in the field of nursing.

Judge Mablean, who serves as the Founder and Chair, confirmed that Reality Star and Philanthropist Evelyn Braxton (We TV - Braxton Family Values) will be this year’s Co-Chair. Comedian Michael Colyar will serve as host for the 10th time.
HUF 2018 Celebrity Presenters are as exciting as ever. Greenleaf star, Kim Hawthorne (Carissa) is confirmed as a presenter. Joining her, as repeat presenters are Renee Lawless (Katherine Cryer) from Tyler Perry -Have and Have Nots, Actor Wendell James (self) - Raising Whitley and, another new addition, Actress Patrice Lovely (Hattie Love) Love Thy Neighbor.
SPECIAL HONOREES
The 2018 Founder's Award will be presented to Donald Henderson, M.D., Internal Medicine and Gastroenterologist (Cedars Sinai Medical Center and Centinela Hospital); the Board of Director's Awardee is Richard Lawson, Actor, Community Activist and the Volunteer of the Year Awardee is Shenique Route of UPS.
Entertainment will be provided by Michael Phillips - Jazz Saxophonist musical director with a live band. Also performing will be the outrageously funny and talented gospel recording artist, Grammy nominated Vicki Winans.
