It is absolutely a date.” Despite what Magda kept saying to herself as she got ready earlier. “What I meant was, if you don’t wish for anyone to know we had a date, I would tell them this engagement was for something else. Does that make more sense?”
Magda didn’t want her to worry or think she was being mislead. “I want you comfortable and at ease, Donna. I didn’t want you to think that I’m the sort who gossips about what they’ve seen. That’s all. If you want me to keep quiet about this evening, I will. That is all. I’m sorry for not being more clear.”
