Grad Caps that I conceptualized & decorated for my friends (and myself) and background on each theme/concept:
- 1st Cap (Mine): the “M” is the logo for my school George Mason, 15 for my grad year, quote around edge by Ziggy Marley as a nod to my Jamaican heritage, 3 names in the hearts on corners represent my 2 grandmothers and 1 great grandmother (also ties in with the quote), Green and Gold are my school’s colors, purple flowers were mostly to hide the ugly dot that’s on top of the cap + purple’s my favorite color, stars and bow for pizzazz.
- 2nd Cap: My friend’s major was hotel management hence the spelling of “suite”, do not disturb sign to emulate one that would hang on hotel room door.
SN: I wanted to add 2 room keys with the colors of the Indian flag on 1 and the US flag on another to represent his heritage, but he respectfully decided against the idea. Fair enough. Do you, boo-boo.
- 3rd Cap*: My friend loves elephants, wanted a quote that cleverly encorporated “15” into the lettering.
*Disclaimer: Was literally done the night before graduation so it could’ve been better. Also, elephants are a surprisingly difficult shape to cut out.
- 4th Cap: My friend’s nickname/(rapper name) is Mo'Te, his 3 big things he said the cap had to include were “Faith, Family, & Focus”, he loves superheroes & Marvel comics so the lightning bolt in the center represents “The Flash” as well as the red, black, & yellow color scheme.
- 5th Cap: I didn’t personally put this cap together, but I did pick out the globe, apple and trim for the edge of the cap (It says Future Science Teacher Ms. Hauser)
