“You know, it’s scary how much you operate like a machine” was the first thing Hal said to his twin as he opened the door. He’d told him he could arrive at 8:00, which obviously meant it was a suggestion, that there was a bit of leeway when it came to when he could arrive. But it was Hugh, he should have known that dinner at 8:00 meant dinner at 8:00, so the fucker was knocking on his door like clockwork, almost as if he’d calculated that if he knocked at 7:59 he would most certainly be stepping into Hal’s house at 8 o’ clock without margin of error. A surefire way to be unnervingly punctual. “But hey, I’m glad you could make it” the alchemist said to Hugh, content that his workaholic brother had made enough room in his busy schedule to come to have dinner. Besides, someone needed to make sure his twin was properly fed every now and then. Who knew what garbage snacks he ate at the office when he didn’t show up to give him paninis or grilled cheese sandwiches. “And you look like you could use a proper meal” he nudged his brother before he closed the door after him.
