forever wounds me that hugo got an entire therapy arc and vivian didnt really get. any on screen development at all. she’s changed a lot as a person! (so we’ve been told) she’s learned a lot about herself and her fears! (so we’ve been told) With or without phaethon’s words of encouragement to her during the story, she’d still take a bullet for them without a second thought. like that notion doesn’t get challenged whatsoever. and it just frustrates me as a creator, player, and appreciator of crazygirls who are reallybad about the persontheylike. i wanna say rn that i dont think vivian being Like That is bad writing. i just WISH THEYD DOOOO SOMETHING WITH ITTTT

cause with the direction BYTWTP was taken, i actually fully expected her unhealthy idolatry/devotion to phaethon to be challenged. i wanted it to be addressed in a more nuanced way sooo bad. i wanted it to be “this CUTE GIRL is OBSESSED WITH ME and its both charming and scary… but she also doesnt even seem to realize how unhealthy her obsession is” and i wanted part of her development to be Realizing how Unhealthy her Obsession is. but it Wasnt.

i feel the need to reiterate again that i hold no hate for a Crazygirl who is just Simply Insane about her love. but with how nuanced BYTWTP’s story is, it felt like a copout to Simply Slap that trope onto vivian and not expand on it at all.

and also i wish hugo and vivian interacted on screen (gets shot)
