CW: Kidnapping & Torture Mention // Revenge(?) // Prior Fight // Killing Mention
Revenge Isn’t Sweet
Hyunjin’s phone rings for what seems like the millionth time. He huffs as he pulls it out of his pocket, not even seeing who’s calling this time before he throws it, the phone abruptly going silent as it hits the hard concrete. The impact itself was enough to break his phone, but Hyunjin made sure to step on it as he walked, it making a firm cracking sound under his shoe.
His father was right, the people here on Earth don’t like him. He shouldn’t have been so naive. If they’re going to hate him regardless, might as well give them a reason to, right?
Hyunjin knew exactly where he was going. It’d been hard to track down those hunters that had captured and tortured him before, but he finally found them. He was going to make them pay for what they did to him, simple as that.
Hui had gotten all of the other boys to help him look for Hyunjin, each one of them checking a different area, looking for any sign that Hyunjin may have been there. They’d been looking for hours with no luck.
It was getting late. Hui sent a text, letting the others know that they could go home and that they could look again tomorrow. Hui didn’t go back home though, he wanted to look for a little while longer.
A few hours had passed and still no sign of Hyunjin. Hui sighed, wishing he hadn’t decided to hurt his friend that day. If he hadn’t, he wouldn’t need to be worrying if he was okay or not.
Hui walked until he finally saw someone a little further up the sidewalk. They were walking away from Hui, so he wasn’t able to see their face, but he was almost certain it was Hyunjin.
Hui walked faster, soon catching up to the person, “Hyunjin?” He asks and they stop, turning to look at him. “Hui?” Hyunjin asked in a small voice, “What are you doing here?” “I could ask you the same thing,” Hui replies and Hyunjin sighs softly.
“I-I was going to kill them, Hui…” Hyunjin’s voice was barely above a whisper and Hui furrowed his brows in confusion, “Kill them? Kill who?” “Those hunters…The ones that took me…A-And I broke my phone too…” The demon says quietly, pulling his broken phone out of his pocket, showing it to Hui with a slight sniffle.
“I-I couldn’t think straight, it was like I had tunnel vision… I was just…so upset…” Hyunjin looks up at Hui’s face again before whispering, “I’m gonna end up exactly like him,” A tear slides down Hyunjin’s cheek as he shakes his head, “I-I don’t want to be like him, Hui.”
Hui didn’t need to ask who Hyunjin was talking about, already knowing he was referring to his father, “You won’t. I know you, and you’re not cold and heartless like he is. You didn’t kill them, did you?” Hyunjin shakes his head again softly in reply. “See? Your dad would’ve killed them without a second thought. You’re not like him, Hyunjin. Come on, let’s get you back home.” Hui wraps his arm around his upset friend, leading them back to their house.
