Public fountains at one time were found throughout the city. The fountain, at the junction of the Hull Street and the Petersburg Turnpike, was in Manchester. The picture was taken around 1888. Since that time Manchester has been annexed and the fountain has been removed, probably as a result of increased traffic flow.
