“GO’ DAMMIT-!!”
Cygnus’ voice rang throughout the city as well as many other civilians as they ran from a monstrous creature attacking the city. It had already demolished several landmarks and buildings as it made its way through the cram packed city. People were injured, many were missing, hell some could of been dead at this point. Cygnus was one of the lucky people, however, who were able to evacuate before the situation got any worse.
Which it already had.
As the beast made its way to the evacuation site, people were already beginning to scream and panic and cause a stampede of people running wild to get away. Cygnus, being in the middle of this, snarled under his breathe and pushed through several people.
“Get out of my goddamn way-!” He’d scream from time to time, as people constantly shoved past him. It wasn’t long, however, when he was eventually knocked down by a wave of people. With a loud grunt, he made contact with the pavement below him, as he watched several people run past him, not even giving him a moments notice.
“Mother fuckers-” He sneered between his teeth, as he tried to get up, but with a grunt, he felt himself collapse once more. “The hell-!?” He grunted out, looking down at his ankle, which had been twisted thanks to the stampede of people. He could barely walk, let alone stand up straight. He groaned out once more.
“Oi’ just perfect....”
As the ground beneath him started to shake even more, he glanced up to see the beast making his way right towards him. His eyes widen in shocked, trying to think of anyway he could get out of this. His heart began to race and he closed his eyes tightly as the beast raised a foot right above him. Cygnus, mumbling once more beneath his breathe, waited for it to just be over already.
“STAY BACK!!”
With a loud blast, the beast let out a shrieking howl and stumbled back, crashing into the pavement behind Cygnus. Opening his eyes quickly, he found himself suddenly lifted up into the air, and he noticed soft, blond hair had surrounded him. A small woman, dressed in a bright red and pink dress, with a bow flowing in her golden locks, held onto the man quite tightly; almost in a protective way. He let out a slight grunt and gripped onto the person who had saved his life.
“Took you long enough, Cherry...”
A soft giggle came from the woman holding tightly onto him. Surrounded by what seemed like musical notes, the two of them floated safely down onto a nearby building.
“I’m sorry Cyggy, but there was other people who needed saving too-” She was cut off by Cygnus placing a finger to her lips, a sly smirking creeping onto his face.
“Hey, stop wastin’ time already. You got a city to save, don’ you?”
“But Cyggy-” Cherish started to talk back, her eyes already filled with worry. “Your ankle-”
“Hey, I’ve had worse. You got this, okay?” With that, he gently took her cheek in his hand, pulling her into him and giving her lips a soft peck with his own. Her face began to glow with blush as he pulled away, that smirk still upon his face. She always adored that cocky attitude of his.
No words needed to be said, as Cherish glowed with pride and excitement. She quickly flew up and made her way over to the beast once more, ready to end it once and for all and return home.
Standing up straight and keeping pressure off his foot, Cygnus made his way to the door of the roof, trying to get to stairs before this building was pile of ash as well. For a moment he was quiet, before a slight chuckle escaped his lips.
“You better get home safe, I’ll make sure dinner is perfect tonight. Champions dish.”
